  • 1 kg carrots shredded
  • 750 ml milk
  • 500 gram sugar
  • 2 tsp fresh malai / cream
  • 1 tsp cardamom powder
  • 3 tsp ghee / clarified butter
  • Dry fruits chopped


  • In a heavy bottom pan, add ghee and shredded carrots and saute for few minutes
  • Then add warm milk into it and constantly stir this until the milk gets dissolved.
  • Once the milk is dissolved, add sugar and stir it continuously.
  • Lastly add fresh malai, cardamom powder and chopped dry fruits and mix well and cook for another few minutes until ghee comes across the sides.
  • Transfer this halwa to the heart shape mould and unmould in a plate.
  • Decorate with almonds and carrot halwa cake is ready to serve.
