Ingredients

  • 20 nos , Medium sliced bottle gourd
  • 15nos , Coconut pieces
  • 2.5tbsp , Salt
  • 1/2tbsp , Turmeric powder
  • 2nos , Green chili
  • 1 handful , Coriander leaves
  • 10-15nos , Curry leaves
  • 1 cup , Whisked curd
  • As needed , Water
  • 2tbsp , Oil
  • 1/2tbsp , Mustard seeds
  • 1/2tbsp , Cumin seeds
  • 1/2tbsp , Channa dal
  • 1/2 tbsp , Urad dal
  • 1 pinch , Asafoetida
  • 2 nos , Broken red chilli

Instructions

  • First in a mixer jar, add soaked ingredients, 3 green chillies, coconut pieces, coriander leaves, 1/2 tsp salt with little bit of water, grind it well and keep the masala aside.
  • Next in a pan,put bottle gourd and water,let it cook until the gourd turns transparent.Add grinded masala to it with 2 tsp salt,1/2 tsp turmeric powder,curry leaves,coriander leaves, curd,mix well. Now close the lid &let it cook for 10 mins on medium flame
  • Heat 2 tsp oil in small pan, add all the seasoning ingredients. Pour it on the Majjige huli and the bottle gourd majjige huli is ready to serve! 🤤🤤

Notes/Tips

First, soak 5 tsp of channa dal, 1 tsp jeera, 1 tsp coriander seeds, in hot water, for 3 hours and keep it aside.
