Ingredients

  • Large onions 2 units
  • All purpose flour 1 cup
  • Corn starch 1/3 cup
  • Baking powder 1/2 teaspoons
  • Garlic powder 1 teaspoons
  • Salt 1 teaspoons
  • Black pepper 1/4 teaspoons
  • Bread crumbs 2 cup
  • Cooking oil as per taste

Instructions

  • Take a large bowl, add all purpose flour, cornstarch, baking powder, garlic powder, salt and pepper. Add water and whisk until it is smooth and thick.
  • Cut the onions into thick slices/ rings and separate them.
  • Dip the rings in the batter, then coat them with breadcrumbs.
  • Take a pan, heat the oil and deep fry the rings until they are golden brown in color and crisp.
  • Transfer them into an absorbent paper and serve hot with ketchup or green chutney.
